Solve challenges in installing and managing your LAC/e computers
This is how it all started: One of our long-standing customers was faced with the major challenge of upgrading a global Empower network with around 1,000 LAC/E computers from Empower 2 to Empower 3 with just two employees. Since the upgrade also involved changing the operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7, this task could not be solved using conventional methods.
In addition to the time requirement, another hurdle was that qualified personnel were not available at each of the 13 locations worldwide for the necessary manual steps.
With Rhizomer, we developed a solution where LAC/E computers can be managed centrally from one location. Without the need to be on-site or to perform manual configurations.
What are the advantages of Rhizomer?

Updating a LAC/E does not take long, typically about 20 minutes for current computers. This means that updates, for example, can be implemented without much impact on laboratory operation. Errors happen! Unfortunately, Empower does not allow a simple uninstall of an update. De facto, a reinstallation must always be performed in case of an error. This is a time-consuming step that must be initiated manually. Rhizomer includes a rollback feature that takes you back to the previous version in a few seconds.
Rhizomer allows continuous monitoring of the LAC/E computers. A clear dashboard shows the status of the LAC/E machines and allows to retrieve the current configuration. If you make changes, they are recorded and documented in the Rhizomer Audit Trail. Thanks to an electronic device log, you reach the next level on the way to a paperless lab.
Rhizomer is compatible with all customer-specific environments. Even in the global networks, different regions or labs can be configured individually. Backup your configuration
The LAC/E computer also stores information on the configuration of your instrument network, your connected devices, and their configuration locally. In the event of a failure or reinstallation, these must be restored at great expense. To avoid this, Rhizomer regularly backs up this information and is thus able to fully restore a LAC/E configuration in the event of a failure.
